More Russian Arms Into The Fight

A fight Ukraine can't win

After news of a multi-billion dollar aid bill for Ukraine surfaced, Russia prepares its stockpiles for the coming NATO threat. Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu emphasized the need for the volume, quality and speed of arms production to rapidly grow. The desire for more arms and munitions for the Russia military is becoming less of a wish and more of a reality.

The reality on the ground for Ukrainian troops only degrades from this position. Even with the influx of aid from western countries, Ukraine is trapped in a cage with the Russian bear, and the bear just got more guns. Already fighting at a massive disadvantage with regards to ammunition, personal and available fighting systems an influx in Russian arms would only work against the Ukrainians.

As we continue to hear this absurdly low 34,000 KIA figure for Ukraines armed forces, Russia is constantly pushing forward. The fact that Ukraine has a clear inability to defend its lines seems to go unspoken by western media. The human cost here is incalculable. “Tactical Retreat” is a nice way of saying they can't hold the line. As that frontline gets closer and closer to Kyiv the Russian war machine keeps on grinding. A grind that requires replenishment of resources for both sides.

We now run into the main issue at hand, NATO cannot outproduce Russia in its current state. You can see the figures yourself and see clearly Russia is able to put more material onto the battlefield faster. Ukraine itself can’t produce what they need to fight so they rely on aid from sympathetic countries. The issue there is obvious, why would I send you a tank I could use for my own defense? It’s clear conflicts all over the world are flaring up and the idea of sending all your best equipment and waiting for the next order to come is just stupid. Especially for many smaller countries who barely have the resources to waste.

As aid slows and Russia production grows the cost to human life will only increase. The Ukrainians are fighting a war they cannot win and the only hope seems to be coming to the negotiation table. Ukrainian and western leaders need to look for a peace plan rather than continuing this provocation game or Ukraine will fall completely.
